About Us:
History
On March 15, 1993, Sandhill Orthopaedic & Sportsmedicine
opened its door to the community of Southwest Kansas with the
intention of providing quality general and specialized orthopaedic
care. Now years later, Dr. Michael J. Baughman has watched what
was once a five-man operation grow to include 30 employees and
has built a new facility at Main and Fulton.
Our Logo
The international symbol for orthopaedics is a crooked tree
attached to a straight stake. The crooked tree represents
a deformed child. The straight stake represents an Orthopaedic
Surgeon correcting the deformity of the child. In our sportsmedicine
logo, we've taken poetic license and used a baseball bat for
the stake. The presence of the sports gear in the logo is
intended to emphasize the sportsmedicine aspects of orthopaedic
in our practice. The sand hills symbolize the geography of
our region. The entire symbol then, is intended to represent
Orthopaedics and Sportsmedicine for Southwest Kansas.
